Oldwick, NJ — December 29 — After it was determined that R517 (Old Turnpike Road) between Laurel Mountain Way and Hill and Dale Road in Tewksbury Township was impassable, the Oldwick Fire Company issued a roadway advisory.

To keep cars out of dangerous situations, fire police and responding units secured the impacted area and implemented traffic control procedures. While conditions were assessed, the closure was implemented to enable local public works workers and emergency services to work safely. Drivers were instructed to take other routes and adhere to marked detours. Drivers were advised to be cautious when travelling in the winter and to keep an eye out for shifting road conditions. In order to allow for additional evaluation and cleanup, the road was kept blocked. Reopening updates were to be disseminated via municipal and departmental channels.
