Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser & Chinese Auction for Ex-Chief Tony Ryan

Tony Ryan is an Ex-Chief with the Selden Fire Department, spending countless hours volunteering for our community for over 30 years. Tony is also the owner of Stringer News Service providing breaking and local news coverage on Long Island, and donating an abundance of time and resources to bettering the volunteer service.

Tony had been diagnosed with Stage 4 Kidney Cancer, and so, it is our turn to help!

The Selden Fire Department will be hosting a spaghetti dinner fundraiser on August 15th, 2021 from 1pm to 6pm. This event will be both in person and virtual. Tickets will be $15 per person!

Battle of the Bravest; a firefighter muster and skill competition

Calling all firefighters to participate in the "Battle of the Bravest", a firefighter muster and skill competition.

The Battle will be interactive for the public, in addition for the firefighters to enjoy. Hosted by NJ First Responders, FirstNet, and the Firefighters Wear Pink Campaign, the event will occur at Soverel Park in East Orange on Saturday, August 28th, from 10 AM — 8 PM.

First Hose Co. of Boonsboro, Inc. Annual 911 Remembrance Parade
September 11, 2021 Boonsboro, MD

Annual 911 Remembrance Parade & Covid-19 Health Workers & Responders Recognition Parade to be held along Boonsboro's historic Main Street on Saturday, September 11th, 2021 at 6:30PM.

The parade is being held in memory of the Fire, Rescue and Law Enforcement personnel who lost their lives on 9-11. We will also honor the men and women in the military who have lost their lives and also those who are presently serving our country. This year we will also honor the health workers & first responders for their exemplary performance during the Covid-19 Pandemic.

The event is sponsored by the First Hose Company of Boonsboro, Inc. and all the volunteers and members of both stations.

Line-up of marching units will be at 5:30PM at the Boonsboro School complex located at US Route 40 Alternate and Maryland Route 66 (Mapleville Rd.). The motorized units will line up at 1800 hours in the parking lot of Weis Markets near the intersection of US Route 40A and Route 68.

All Fire, Rescue and Ambulance Companies, All Military and Veteran units, all Military personnel, all Medical personnel and any and all other interested participants are invited and are asked to RSVP by the 8th of September to Vernon Brown, Parade Coordinator, at 301-573-3649, fax 301-432-2438 or email at

Taking Care of Our Own LODD Class

The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation and the Ohio Federation of Fire Chaplains are teaming up to bring us this training program to help fire chiefs and chaplains prepare for the worst: a line-of-duty death or serious injury. Developed by fire service personnel and families who have lost a firefighter in the line of duty, the class covers pre-incident planning, survivor notification, family and co-worker support, and benefits and resources available to the families. You’ll go home with specific ideas, practical information, real-world insights, and valuable materials. The class is FREE, but seating is limited. Visit to register.
