Clinton Township, New Jersey — 26th December — During a winter snow event that affected the area, the Clinton Fire Department staffed the firehouse. In order to guarantee a timely response to weather-related situations, such as car wrecks, alarms, and fire calls, volunteers stayed on the scene.
In Union Township, crews responded to a reported chimney fire early in the evening. Before resuming to service, firefighters worked on the spot to handle the situation and look for an extension. Chimney fires are more frequent in colder climates and frequently necessitate thorough inspections to ensure circumstances are under control. Station personnel made it possible for faster turnout and better response times when snow affected travel conditions. There were no reported injuries. Throughout the incident, firefighters kept an eye on the weather and were available for any more calls.
