Livingston, New Jersey — December — 8th After a 911 call of a basement fire, units from the Livingston Fire Department, located at 62 S. Livingston Ave., were sent to a senior care facility on the south side of town. Multiple activations of sprinkler systems and smoke detectors were also part of the call.
When first-due companies came, they discovered an industrial clothes dryer in the basement laundry room that was on fire. Engine Company 3 extended an attack line, and workers swiftly contained the fire. Early alarm activation and the building's sprinkler system assisted in preventing the spread of the fire and aided in its control. There were no casualties or problems with evacuation as a result of the incident.
