Fire and EMS Respond to Complex Crash Near Parkway

Bloomfield, NJ — December 3 — Due to a reported car collision involving entrapment, the Bloomfield Fire Department, situated at 375 Franklin St., was sent to Hoover Avenue. When crews arrived, they discovered a car that had departed the Garden State Parkway northbound ramp, driven through a T-intersection, veered off the road, and collided with a shed in a backyard.
Before starting the extrication process, firefighters secured the car and stabilized the damaged structure. The patient was given to Bloomfield EMS for medical attention once crews safely accessed the occupant and finished the extrication. Before returning to service, units stayed on the scene until risks were reduced and the area was secured.
