Willingboro, N.J. — 18th December — The Willingboro Fire Department, which is based at 398 Charleston Road, was called to Poppy Lane after residents had put out a small fire before they arrived. To look into and verify scene safety, Engine 1612 and Ladder 1615 were sent out.
The impacted area was thoroughly inspected by firefighters, who also kept an eye out for any leftover heat and looked for any hidden fire extensions. Before leaving the area, crews made sure the fire was completely out and there were no more dangers. There were no reported injuries. In order to minimize rekindles and maintain structural safety, responses to resident-extinguished fires are still crucial. In order to enable appropriate assessment and follow-up, the Willingboro Fire Department encourages locals to call emergency services following any fire occurrence, even if the fire seems to be extinguished.
