Westampton Township, NJ — December 17 — Westampton Township Emergency Services helped with a cold-water rescue at Woolman Lake when three young children were wandering on the frozen surface and went through the ice. Before the responder arrived, a male student managed to save himself. Two female pupils were discovered partially buried in water up to their chests.
Responders swiftly devised a rescue strategy, directing the pupils towards land and securely pulling them out of the water with a rope. Due to exposure to cold water, all three kids were assessed on the spot and taken by EMS to Virtua Hospital as a precaution. Everyone is anticipated to get well. Later, firefighters went into the water to recover personal belongings. Residents are reminded by officials that ice conditions are unpredictable and should never be regarded as safe.
