The Franklin Fire Company commemorated 122 years of uninterrupted service to Franklin County and neighboring areas in the first week of December. Less than two weeks after the borough council dissolved the Hope Hose Company, the department was established on December 8, 1903. Known as the "rabbit hunters," the Hope Hose Company developed a solid, if occasionally tumultuous, reputation for responding to alarms quickly and reliably.
