November 18, 2025 — Center Moriches Fire Department responded late Tuesday morning to assist the East Moriches Fire Department at a working house fire on Inlet View Path. The call was received at approximately 11:40 a.m., with first-arriving units reporting a two-story residence showing smoke from the roofline.
Due to the conditions on arrival, the East Moriches Fire Chief activated a daytime pre-plan, bringing in additional support from neighboring departments. Center Moriches units were assigned as the Rapid Intervention Team (RIT), standing by to ensure firefighter safety while suppression operations were underway.
Firefighters worked efficiently to contain the blaze, bringing the incident under control in just over an hour. No injuries were reported. Once operations concluded, all assisting units were released, and the scene was turned over to the Brookhaven Town Fire Marshals and the Suffolk County Police Arson Squad for investigation.
