December 4, 2025 — Demarest Fire Department units responded this morning after the county transmitted a box alarm for a reported fire in the 400 block of Closter Dock Road.
Upon arrival, firefighters found fire in a one-story auto mechanic shop that had extended into the roof. A second alarm was transmitted to bring additional resources to the scene, allowing crews to open up the structure and access hidden fire.
The fire was brought under control and fully extinguished after coordinated operations by all responding companies. Units operated on scene for just over an hour before returning to service.
