Attleboro, Mass. — December 12 —After completing a rigorous five-week in-house training program, the Attleboro Fire Department welcomed and applauded its seven newest recruits. Advanced emergency medical training, live fire evolutions, search and rescue, ropes and knots, ladders, forced entry, and scenario-based drills were all part of the program, which mirrored current fire academy standards.
As qualified paramedics, all seven candidates join the department and contribute invaluable practical medical experience that improves response skills right away. Every member will now continue daily on-shift training and start a one-year probationary period. Josh Sutherland, Diondre Gomes, Tyler Horsemen, John Gauthier, Mike Cronin, Robert Mershimier, and Nick Caisse are the new firefighter-paramedics.
Fire Chief Lachance noted that their addition enhances the department’s ability to deliver timely and effective emergency services. The Attleboro Fire Department congratulated the recruits on reaching this important milestone and welcomed them to the organization.
