Attleboro, Mass. — December 5 —Seven of the Attleboro Fire Department's newest recruits participated in live fire training, which gave them practical experience in authentic fireground settings. Recruits were able to put the abilities they had learned during the previous four weeks—such as search and rescue, Mayday operations, fire extinguishment, overhaul, blackout operations, and appropriate radio communication—to use.

Participants included members of the department's emergency dispatch squad. The scenarios centered on keeping precise event time stamps, coordinating with external agencies, upgrading responses, and dispatching apparatus.

During an integrated officer development program, a number of AFD officers practiced their present and future leadership roles in real-time fire operations. Assistant Chief Dennis Perkins stressed the need of multi-layered training, pointing out that coordinated operations across all roles enhance efficacy and safety. The Attleboro Fire Department declared that in order to guarantee preparedness and community safety, it will continue to do thorough training.
