Ronkonkoma FD Battles House Fire In Frigid Temperatures

In the evening hours of Sunday December 14th 2025 the Ronkonkoma Fire Department was dispatched to a reported residential structure fire located on Brian Street. While units were responding Ronkonkoma Dispatch advised there were multiple calls on it and Suffolk County Police ESU-1 was on scene advising active fire. Ronkonkoma Chief 5-24-32 arrived on scene and encountered a two story private dwelling with heavy fire on the first and second floor and transmitted a working fire. Ronkonkoma Squad 5-24-6 arrived first due and put multiple handlines into operation. Once all visible fire was knocked down the scene was placed under control and overhaul operations started. Mutual aid was provided by Central Islip FD, Sayville FD, Bohemia FD, Lakeland FD, Bayport FD, Holbrook FD, Nesconset FD, Holtsville, Farmingville FD, Selden FD, Stony Brook VAC. Units operated under the command of Ronkonkoma Chief 5-24-32. The fire is currently under investigation by the Town of Brookhaven Fire Marshal Office and Suffolk County Police Department Arson Section.
