Brookhaven, N.Y. On December 3,2023 the Brookhaven Fire Department held their department’s annual tree lighting event at fire headquarters on Montauk Highway. They were joined by the Bellport School Choir as well as department members’ families and members of the community to celebrate this event. The Choir and attendees sang various Christmas carols prior to the lighting of the tree.
After the department Christmas Tree was light up some special guests were escorted in by fire trucks and fire police members. The special guests were Santa and one of his elf helpers. They greeted the children and took photos with the children and department members and their families that wanted to. Afterwards Santa departed. Light refreshments were served including hot cocoa. A great time was had by all that attended the event.
