December 6, 2025 — The Washington Township Fire Department advised residents that a scheduled flyover of two F-18 fighter jets took place over MetLife Stadium in conjunction with the New York Jets game.

The flyover was part of the NFL’s annual “Salute to Service” initiative, a ceremonial tribute honoring U.S. military members and veterans. Residents across North Jersey may have noticed increased aircraft noise and activity during the event.

According to the planned schedule, the jets departed Teterboro Airport at approximately 12:45 p.m., conducted the flyover just before the 1:00 p.m. kickoff, and returned to Teterboro around 1:04 p.m. The brief but powerful display was intended to recognize and honor those who serve and have served in the armed forces.

Officials thanked residents for their awareness and understanding during the scheduled military activity.
