December 5, 2025 — Washington Township Fire Department helped kick off the holiday season during last night’s Township Tree Lighting, escorting two very special guests in festive style. Santa Claus and the Grinch arrived atop Tower 41, drawing cheers as they rolled into the event and greeted a large crowd of residents.

Despite cold temperatures, families packed the area to celebrate, snapping photos and enjoying the holiday atmosphere. Firefighters assisted Santa and the Grinch as they handed out candy canes and spread seasonal cheer throughout the crowd.

Department officials said the event highlighted the strong connection between the fire company and the community, noting that the weather did little to dampen spirits. The Tree Lighting once again served as a reminder that community traditions — and a little help from the fire department — make the season bright in Washington Township.
