Carneys Point, NJ — December 6 — During a reported kitchen fire, the Penns Grove Fire Company received assistance from the Carneys Point Fire Department & Rescue Squad Inc. As a member of the task force, Engine 11 arrived and took over the first-due engine duty. In order to minimize damage to the home's kitchen area, workers swiftly put out the fire by stretching a single handline. Firefighters performed overhaul to check for extension and ventilation to remove smoke from the building after the fire was under control. Under incident leadership, additional task force units supported fireground operations and suppression efforts on the scene. Fire officials observed that the event was effectively stabilized by the coordinated mutual-aid reaction and timely first efforts. All units were released after their assigned tasks were finished, and no casualties were recorded.
