Westfield Probationary Firefighters Train on Engine Company Operations

Westfield, N.J. — December 6 — The Town of Westfield, New Jersey Fire Department's probationary firefighters finished engine company training that concentrated on crucial fireground procedures. Procedures for fire hydrants, correct hook-ups, and setting up a water supply using forward hose lays were all reviewed in the workshop. In order to strengthen the abilities needed for prolonged fire operations, members also practiced handling and loading big diameter hose. To guarantee safe and reliable methods, training was carried out under police observation. Early in a firefighter's training, engine company procedures like water supply and hose management are stressed as being essential to efficient fire suppression. Frequent practical exercises enable probationary members gain self-assurance, enhance their coordination, and have a better understanding of their duties on the fireground.
