Merrimack Fire Rescue Limits Damage in Box Truck Blaze

Merrimack, NH — November 2 — A box truck fire in the driveway of 17 Joppa Road prompted the response of Merrimack Fire Rescue. Truck 1, Ambulance 1, Engine 1, and Engine 2 were sent out. While approaching the Baboosic Lake rotary, Engine 1 could see flames over the tree line.

Crews arrived to find the truck fully involved, with exposures including multiple vehicles, a trailer, outbuilding and woodshed near an occupied dwelling. Firefighters secured surrounding property and swiftly set up lines. Their concerted activities averted the fire from growing further. The box truck incurred considerable damage. Two more vehicles, the caravan and structures had moderate fire effect. There were no reported injuries. The tragedy underlined the necessity of timely response and excellent teamwork in minimising additional loss.
