Recruit School Emphasizes PT, EMS Care, and Forcible Entry

Concord, NH — 7th January — The Concord, New Hampshire Fire Department's recruits started the day with physical training, which reinforced the department's goal that members maintain a high level of fitness throughout their employment. All recruits join the program in good physical shape, which is a must for the role, according to officials, and training is intended to assist maintain that level over time.


After being introduced to the EMS Training Division, recruits underwent several hours of training on departmental EMS procedures and patient care. Recruits were also introduced to forced entrance in order to give classroom education a hands-on component. On a training prop used to obtain access for rescue and fire attack operations, members rehearsed fundamental skills.
