Concord, NH — 6th January — At the New Hampshire Fire Academy, recruits from the Concord, New Hampshire Fire Department continued their training with SCBA familiarization. Members practiced air management and mobility in confined spaces by completing confidence mazes while wearing full protective gear.

Additionally, recruits finished the department's minimum company standard evolution, which is a 15-minute SCBA drill in which participants must navigate a training facility while carrying out crucial fireground duties. Hose deployment, ladder throwing, search operations, victim removal, and knot tying were among the skills. In order to function as structural firefighters, all members must meet this annual standardized evolution. To make sure recruits can deploy and advance hose lines safely, effectively, and consistently in fireground circumstances, training also includes repeated hose deployment drills.
