Hudson, NH — November 3 — With assistance from FEMA's Assistance to Firefighters Grant program, the Hudson N.H. Fire Department is participating in the IAFF Fire-Ground Survival Course. Critical skills that assist firefighters in avoiding and responding to hazardous circumstances on the fireground are taught in this nationally recognized course.
Firefighters reviewed NIOSH reports from line-of-duty death investigations across North America in the classroom on the first day. After that, practical instruction on self-survival techniques and saving a downed fireman was conducted by master instructors from the United States and Canada. Every fireman, regardless of experience level, benefits from the lessons, according to the agency. Hudson Fire is continuing its efforts to enhance operational safety and safeguard its personnel during emergency response with this training.
