Rumney, NH - A serious two-vehicle collision near the intersection of Route 25 and Prospect Hill Road prompted a multi-agency emergency response and a rapid technical extrication Saturday morning, resulting in three individuals being transported to area hospitals.
Emergency dispatch alerted the Rumney Fire Department, Plymouth Fire-Rescue, and the Wentworth Fire Department shortly after 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 17, 2026, for an automatic aid response to a motor vehicle crash with reported entrapment.
Initial reports indicated multiple vehicles were involved with four potential patients, prompting incident commanders to summon an additional mutual aid ambulance from Plymouth Fire-Rescue to the scene.
First-arriving personnel discovered two heavily damaged vehicles that had veered off the highway and come to rest in the woodline. First responders immediately established triage for the victims while rescue personnel deployed hydraulic rescue tools to free a motorist pinned inside the wreckage. The extrication was completed efficiently in approximately five minutes.
Following patient packaging and medical assessment, ambulances transported three individuals to local hospitals for further treatment. Operating units secured the Grafton County roadway, maintaining single-lane alternating traffic flow on Route 25 for about an hour before clearing the scene and reopening the corridor.
