KEENE, NH — November 10 — A Tier 2 hazardous materials incident in Winchester required advanced metering and technician-level assistance, so the Keene Fire Department's HAZMAT team responded. Engine 1 helped Winchester workers on the site while Utility 2 deployed with certified personnel. As safety protocols and monitoring continued, several patients were reported and assessed. Ambulances 1, 2, and 3 continued to respond to medical calls in Keene while multiple units were dedicated to the regional response. With a two-person crew, Ladder 2 covered the whole city while a staffing recall was started to support station preparedness. In order to guarantee that both communities retain operational capabilities during complicated emergency situations, the reaction emphasized continued mutual-aid partnerships.
