Effingham, NH — November 17 — With a lesson on fire cause and determination, Effingham NH Fire/Rescue advanced their Fire 2 "On My Time" program. Important subjects covered by the students included evidence protection, burn patterns, chain of custody, and appropriate scene technique. Leading the training and providing advice based on field experience was Chief Harmon, a trained fire investigator. Following the teaching portion, students used little fires within plasterboard cubes to examine burn behavior and show how ventilation and ignition points impact damage indications. The practical experience reinforced how correct reporting and follow-up enquiries are supported by early observations. The department acknowledged ongoing advancements in the certification program and thanked Tamworth Fire Assistant Chief Baumann for providing resources for the practical exercise.
