Hartford Volunteers Assist Fort Ann at School Alarm Incident

Hartford , NY — November 12 —The Hartford Volunteer Fire Company responded to Fort Ann Central School Wednesday morning after receiving reports of a fire alarm activation. Fort Ann Engine Rescue 265 arrived to discover light smoke and a burning odor on the first and second floors. A Zone 1 First Alarm Structure Fire Box was activated, resulting in mutual help from West Fort Ann, Kingsbury, Hartford, Bay Ridge, Whitehall, and Fort Ann EMS.
Crews investigated and identified the problem within the elevator system. The power to the impacted equipment was turned off, locked, and marked, and the building was ventilated. There were no injuries recorded, and the site was turned over to school officials.
