Ventilation Operations Clear Smoke at Adams Business

Adams, NY — March 5th — At 9:51 a.m., the Adams Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at Tops Market, 10916 US Route 11, in the Town of Adams.


Firefighters responded to reports of smoke inside the property and discovered a fire in a rotisserie oven used to roast chicken. Crews took the oven from the store and opened it to put out the fire in the machine's interior mechanism.


To clear smoke from the building, firefighters from the Adams, Adams Center, and Lorraine Fire Departments deployed several exhaust and positive pressure ventilation fans.


The following units responded: Chiefs 1-0-1 Robert J. Simpson and 1-0-2 William Sweetland, Engines 1-4-1 and 1-4-2, Rescue 1-6-1, Squad 1-7-2, Truck 1-8-1, Adams Center Engine 2-1-2, and Lorraine Engine 28-4-1.
