The Shelton Fire Department extended its long-standing support for the Connecticut Fire Academy by supporting an active member of Recruit Class #76. While the department provides sponsorship for each academy class, not all cycles have an applicant who fits the qualifications. This year, Shelton was proud to support Joshua Parfan of Echo Hose Hook & Ladder Company 1.

Recruits completed live fire evolutions this week, with a focus on suppression, search and rescue, and rooftop operations. The department's Deputy Chief spent the day shadowing Firefighter Parfan, watching his effective communication, collaboration, and disciplined firefighting abilities. Shelton Fire Department members are looking forward to Class 76's graduation in early December and congratulate FF Parfan on his growth and dedication.
