Bushkill, PA — October 26 — In Porter Township, Bushkill Volunteer Fire Company was called to a smoke situation near Pine Flats Road. The incident was upgraded to a brush fire on Bushkill Cabin Colony Road while units were responding. When crews arrived, they saw a multi-acre wildland fire spreading across forested areas. While personnel worked with DCNR and mutual-aid partners to assist with fire suppression, Bush 24 and Tanker 6 were sent to protect neighboring residences.

Before being let go, firefighters worked well into the night. To keep an eye on the fire line and control hot spots, DCNR stayed overnight. 58 acres were engaged, and containment was reported to be at 95%. The event is indicative of the region's ongoing seasonal wildland activity.
