East Haddam, CT - At 12:24 P.M. on Tuesday, November 24th, the East Haddam Fire Department, with mutual aid from Colchester, Salem, East Hampton and the Bozrah FAST, responded to 33 Wildwood Road for a house fire.

Salem’s Chief Car 21 arrived at 12:36 P.M. reporting a fully involved single-story wood-frame residence. Colchester Engine 128 arrived at 12:38 P.M. and stretched a two-inch hose line to the 'Delta' side. Salem arrived next and stretched a one-and-three-quarter inch crosslay from Engine 128 to the front of the dwelling.

Crews ran out of water and had to wait for East Haddam Engine 415 to arrive and give them their tank water. Tanker 215 set up their drop tank at the intersection of Wildwood Road and Laurel Lane. Gardner Lake Tanker 127 arrived next and nursed into the engine companies. Ladder 121 established a draft from Lake Hayward and filled the tankers.

Ambulance 527 transported a female with burn injuries to Backus Hospital, who was later transferred to the Bridgeport Hospital Burn Unit. The East Haddam Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
