Chaffee, N.Y. — October 11 — The Chaffee-Sardinia Volunteer Fire Company joined Yorkshire and Delevan crews for a vehicle extrication demonstration with the Pioneer High School EMT class. Firefighters showed students how rescue tools are used to safely remove patients from crashed vehicles, and students also had the chance to view a Mercy Flight helicopter up close. Many of the students volunteering in local departments helped lead portions of the hands-on training. The department noted that the Pioneer EMT class has provided many of its EMTs over the years and appreciated the opportunity to support the program.
