October 18, 2025 — At approximately 12:56 p.m., the Verona Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a farm combine on fire. Within minutes, crews responded with Engine 2, Rescue 1, Car 2, and Engine 3.

Upon arrival, firefighters from Engine 2 deployed a handline to begin fire suppression efforts. Using a thermal imaging camera (TIC), crews located hidden hotspots within the machine, enabling them to fully cool down and extinguish the fire.

Once the equipment was confirmed safe, all Verona units cleared the scene and returned to service. The department credited the quick response and use of advanced tools for preventing further damage and ensuring a safe outcome.
