Garden City, N.Y. — October 5 — The Garden City Fire Department hosted its annual Fire Prevention Day and Open House at 347 Stewart Avenue, welcoming families to learn about home fire safety and emergency readiness. Firefighters provided demonstrations, shared information on smoke detector maintenance, and encouraged families to review and practice home escape plans.

Residents toured apparatus, met with members, and learned how the department trains and responds throughout the year. The event highlighted that fire prevention is ongoing and begins with simple steps taken at home.
