Freeport, N.Y. — October 23 — This morning, the Freeport Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire at the intersection of Atlantic Avenue and South Main Street. Upon arrival, crews encountered a car fully involved, with heavy fire and smoke visible. Firefighters deployed handlines and quickly knocked down the flames, preventing spread to nearby vehicles or property.
The scene was secured as firefighters ensured no secondary hazards and checked for fluid leaks. Traffic was briefly diverted while operations were underway. No injuries were reported, and the vehicle was later removed by tow.
