October 26, 2025 - East Greenwich Fire Department was alerted to a reported structure fire, all of its apparatus were already engaged in other emergency calls. East Greenwich Police were first to arrive and confirmed an active fire at the scene.
Mutual aid was promptly requested, prompting the Warwick Fire Department to respond with three engines, a ladder, a special hazards unit, and a rescue. Warwick Engine 10 reached the scene within eight minutes and swiftly knocked down the main body of the fire.
East Greenwich units arrived shortly thereafter to assist with overhaul operations and conduct primary and secondary searches. The department expressed gratitude to its mutual aid partners — including the North Kingstown Fire Department and Central Coventry Fire District for station coverage, as well as the Providence Canteen for on-scene support.
The Rhode Island State Fire Marshal’s Office continues to investigate the cause of the fire.
