Sturbridge, Mass. — October 27, 2025 — The Sturbridge Firefighters Local 170 continued driver training efforts Monday as Firefighter Hurley worked toward qualification on Engine 1. The day’s session combined road time, maneuvering drills, and apparatus placement exercises at both commercial and residential fire scenarios.

Training locations included Uno’s Restaurant, the movie theatre, Sherwin-Williams Paint Store, and residential areas such as Preserve Way and Shepard Road. Firefighter Hurley also practiced hydrant operations, flowing multiple hose lines, and completed an apparatus inventory review to reinforce readiness under active response conditions.
