914th Fire Assists at Tonawanda Commercial Blaze
October 2, 2025 — The 914th Fire Department from Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station responded Thursday evening under mutual aid to assist the City of Tonawanda Fire Department at a commercial structure fire.
Shortly after 6:00 p.m., Engine 8 and Chief 2 were dispatched to the scene, where first-arriving crews encountered heavy smoke and fire conditions at the rear of the building.
Upon arrival, the 914th crew was assigned as the FAST (Firefighter Assist and Search Team), ready to support interior operations and ensure responder safety. Thanks to an aggressive and effective attack by initial crews, the fire was quickly knocked down, allowing the 914th team to be placed back in service shortly afterward.
The department commended all responding agencies for their coordinated efforts and swift response in containing the blaze.
