Poplar Ridge, N.Y.—October 9— The Poplar Ridge Fire Department visited Southern Cayuga Central School as part of National Fire Prevention Week, bringing interactive fire safety education to local students.

Firefighters spent the day teaching children about essential safety practices, including how to stop, drop, and roll, understanding smoke alarms, and developing home escape plans. The visit also gave students a close look at firefighting equipment and a tour of the department’s fire apparatus.
