WATERVLIET, NY - On October 29th, the City of Watervliet Fire Department and Police Department were dispatched to the area of 145 16th Street for a reported traffic accident. The caller reported that the car had flipped over and hit the porch of a house. On arrival, firefighters had a vehicle on its side and all of its occupants had already exited the vehicle. Police units quickly arrived on scene and shut down the roadway around the incident. Firefighters checked the vehicle for fluid leaks and made sure that there was no one still inside.
Firefighters remained on scene while the tow truck operator removed the vehicle and placed it on the flatbed. The roadway opened a short time later. No injuries were reported. The building only suffered minor damage to the stairs. The Fire Department went back in service a short time later.
