Falmouth, MA - On 23 October at approximately 10:30 a.m., fire crews from Engine 25 and Engine 20 responded to a vehicle fire on Edgewater Drive East. According to officials, two residents had been attempting to jump-start a vehicle when it caught fire, which then spread to a nearby second vehicle.

Due to the close proximity of the vehicles to a residence, the incident was upgraded to a structure fire. Firefighters quickly extinguished both fires, preventing further damage. Both vehicles sustained significant damage; however, no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the department’s Fire Investigation Unit.
