Falmouth, MA - On 20th October at approximately 3:40 PM, the Falmouth Emergency Communications Center (ECC) received an alarm activation report from a Central Station Alarm Company regarding a residence on Shorewood Drive, off East Falmouth Highway. Moments later, a resident from the same address called to report a vehicle fire inside the attached garage.
The incident was immediately upgraded to a structure fire response, prompting the dispatch of an additional fire engine, ladder truck, and support vehicles. Upon arrival, the first responding engine company observed heavy smoke coming from the garage and upgraded the situation to a working fire, which brought further resources to the scene and ensured town-wide emergency coverage.
Firefighters advanced an attack line into the garage through the residence, as the exterior garage door lacked outside hardware and was inaccessible. Crews successfully knocked down the fire, which was contained to the vehicle. The incident resulted in heat damage to the garage walls and significant smoke damage throughout the residence.
