Kenilworth Fire Department Responds to 5th Alarm Fire in Hillside

October 14, 2025 — On Tuesday evening, the Kenilworth Fire Department was dispatched on a Mutual Aid request to assist the Hillside Fire Department at a large-scale 5th alarm structure fire on the 1500 block of Maple Avenue.
Engine 63 responded to the scene, joining numerous departments in battling heavy fire conditions that impacted multiple businesses and nearby homes. Crews worked diligently to aid in fire suppression efforts, operating under challenging conditions to help bring the blaze under control.
The Kenilworth Fire Department commended all responding agencies for their coordination and hard work throughout the extended operation.
