October 12, 2025 — On Sunday, members of the Oceanport Fire Department spent the day preparing their new engine by equipping it with a full complement of Mercedes Textiles fire hose. In total, firefighters packed over 3,000 feet of hose, ensuring the apparatus is fully mission-ready for future emergencies.

While completing this extensive task, the crew also responded to one call for service, turning out almost immediately before returning to standby status. Members remained on alert throughout the day as the nor’easter approached the area, maintaining readiness to respond to weather-related incidents.

The department continues to exemplify dedication and preparedness—balancing operational readiness, equipment maintenance, and community protection even in challenging conditions.
