September 27, 2025 — The Independent Fire Company #1 of Spring Lake Heights responded to Hoffman’s Ice Cream after a vehicle reportedly struck the building on Saturday.

Upon arrival, firefighters confirmed that no injuries were reported, and the staff remained in good spirits despite the incident. The structure sustained minor damage, and after ensuring the area was safe, crews cleared the scene.

In a lighthearted note, firefighters shared that “the ice cream is safe,” providing a bit of levity following the call.
