Linden, N.J- Sept 16: The Linden Fire Department responded early Tuesday to a residential structure fire at 431 Miner Terrace. According to preliminary accounts, the fire was detected around 12:44 a.m. and quickly spread throughout the two-story, wood-framed home.
Emergency dispatchers got numerous 911 calls reporting heavy visible flames. Upon arrival, responders discovered flames extending through the roof. Firefighters moved assault lines immediately and attempted to extinguish the fire while searching for any potential occupants. Despite the fire's ferocity, workers entered the structure to ensure that no casualties were trapped. There were no significant injuries recorded among residents or firefighters. The fire was largely extinguished in within an hour.
According to some sources, the Red Cross was called in to aid displaced residents of the severely damaged property. At this point, it is unclear whether mutual aid organizations were involved in the repression. The synchronized reaction by Linden Fire Department units was credited for keeping the fire from spreading to nearby homes. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
