September 19, 2025 — Multiple fire departments worked together Friday evening to bring a large structure fire under control in Ontario County.

The incident began shortly after Middlesex Fire and Rushville Fire had cleared a car fire earlier in the evening. Middlesex Fire, joined by Rushville Fire, Middlesex Valley Ambulance, and Benton Fire with their FAST Team, responded mutual aid to the scene of the working blaze.

Given the size of the structure and intensity of the fire, command quickly escalated the response to second and third alarms. Additional resources were dispatched, including a tanker from Potter Fire and an extra tanker from Benton Fire.

Fire crews coordinated water supply, suppression efforts, and safety operations. Thanks to the rapid and well-organized response, the fire was contained, and command later directed all remaining units to continue in non-emergency status.

No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation. Officials commended the teamwork of all responders for their swift action and dedication to protecting the community.
