September 7, 2025 — During their weekly Sunday evening practice, members of the A.E. Crandall Hook & Ladder Company trained with their aerial apparatus, Alfred 9.

Firefighters Ryan AJ and Alfred University student Anthony Kronbeck practiced operating the controls from the bucket, gaining valuable hands-on experience with the department’s ladder truck. Training on specialized equipment like the aerial ensures that firefighters are prepared for real-world emergencies where precision and safety are critical.

The department continues its tradition of weekly drills to sharpen skills and maintain readiness for any call that may come in.
