Two-Car Crash Flips Vehicle on Roof in Mattydale; Onondaga Responders Secure Scene

Hinsdale, NY - A late-night two-vehicle collision left a car resting on its roof and prompted a multi-agency mutual aid response along Beley Avenue on Thursday night in northern Onondaga County.

At approximately 10:49 p.m. on September 3, the Hinsdale Volunteer Fire Department and Lyncourt Volunteer Fire Department were dispatched on mutual aid to assist the Mattydale Fire District with a reported motor vehicle crash in the 200 block of Beley Avenue.

Initial 911 callers reported that one vehicle struck another before rolling over and landing inverted on its roof. Hinsdale Rescue 5, operating under the command of Chief Jones, arrived on scene and immediately began securing the perimeter, checking the overturned wreckage for potential fuel leaks, battery hazards, and structural instability.

The lone occupant of the rolled vehicle was able to self-extricate from the wreckage prior to the arrival of emergency crews. Paramedics and EMTs from NAVAC Ambulance evaluated the patient on scene before providing transport to an area hospital for medical assessment.

The incident brought a coordinated response from Mattydale Fire Department Car 2, Hinsdale Rescue 5, NAVAC Ambulance, and deputies from the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office, who managed traffic control and documented the collision.
