Constantia Firefighters Deploy Two Hoselines to Halt Working Camp Fire on Doris Park Drive

Constantia, NY - Firefighters with the Constantia Volunteer Fire Department launched a fast, aggressive interior suppression attack Sunday morning, pulling dual hoselines to knock down a working residential blaze on Doris Park Drive in southern Oswego County.

At approximately 8:29 a.m. on September 13, the Constantia Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched following reports of a structure fire along the north shore corridor of Oneida Lake. Chief 801 was the first to reach the scene, confirming an active, working fire burning within a 20-by-30-foot camp-style home.

Constantia Engine 811 arrived as the first-due suppression piece staffed with a full company. Firefighters immediately stretched two attack handlines into position, delivering a heavy, well-placed volume of water that delivered a decisive knockdown on the main body of fire. Command was augmented on scene by Assistant Chief 803 and Rescue Unit 862.

Crews were backed up on scene by automatic mutual aid support from both the West Monroe Volunteer Fire Department and the Cleveland Volunteer Fire Department, who assisted with water supply, ventilation, and overhaul evolutions to check the camp structure for hidden hot spots.

The combined firefighting effort brought the incident under swift control, allowing all units to complete mop-up duties and return to service by 11:00 a.m. No injuries were reported.
