Watertown, NY - Firefighters from the Northpole Fire Company deployed apparatus and crew on automatic mutual aid Monday morning, assisting neighboring responders with a heavily involved trailer fire in northern Jefferson County.

At 11:48 a.m. on August 31, Northpole was dispatched to assist the Calcium Fire Department with a reported working structure fire. First-arriving companies were met with a trailer structure that was already well-involved, with heavy flames and thick smoke consuming a significant portion of the dwelling.

Northpole responded to the scene with Engine 2. Upon arrival, company members integrated into active fireground operations, stretching attack hoselines to combat the main body of fire alongside Calcium crews.

Following the initial knockdown, Northpole firefighters conducted extensive overhaul operations, peeling back damaged structural materials and dousing stubborn, concealed hot spots to prevent reignition. Responders operated on scene for approximately two hours before completing mop-up duties and returning Engine 2 to service.
